SBEDF Passes Resolution Supporting Nunez Community College

June 20, 2016 (St. Bernard, Louisiana) — The St. Bernard Economic Development Foundation (SBEDF) announced today that it has adopted a resolution supporting Nunez Community College in the midst of the Louisiana Legislature's second special session of 2016.

The resolution, which passed unanimously at the June 15th meeting of the organization's board of directors, stresses the importance Nunez Community College plays in SBEDF's mission of retaining and creating jobs, building prosperity, and improving the quality of life in St. Bernard Parish.

“Nunez Community College is a pillar of our community,” said Andrew Jacques, the executive director of SBEDF. "In particular, the college's process technology program is an essential piece of the entire region's workforce development strategy."

The resolution encourages state legislatures support any and all legislation that ensures the college's long term sustainability and health.
